New deal cements relationship between construction firms
A long-term partnership between two leading companies in the construction industry continues to go from strength to strength with the signing of a major new contract.
Pennine Stone has been supplying national housebuilder Persimmon with its cast stone since 2003, during which time it has established itself as one of the top cast stone manufacturers in the country.
Based at a state-of-the-art facility in Carcroft near Doncaster, the company now provides cast stone to all of the Persimmon Group’s regions across the country, which between them covers developments in 390 locations.
And the two companies have now further cemented their successful relationship by signing a new deal which sees Pennine Stone become the housebuilder’s sole supplier of TecCast and GRC products until the end of 2017.
Richard Walsh, Managing Director at Pennine Stone, said: “Persimmon is one of our key clients and has been using our cast stone services from day one. The relationship began with us supplying just a small number of Persimmon regions and has grown over the past decade or so to the point where we now provide the cast stone for its developments throughout the UK.
“The continued strength of our partnership is a testament to the quality, service and price that we offer all of our clients, and we are very proud of the fact that our growth as a company has been achieved as a result of repeat business from our ever increasing customer base.
“Many of our clients, including Persimmon, have acknowledged that using Pennine Stone as their cast stone supplier is like having another member of staff in their office because of the reliable service that we provide, and we are delighted to have signed this new deal with the Persimmon Group.”
Ian Hardy, Persimmon’s Group Buyer, said the business was committed to maintaining long-standing relationships with suppliers: “We have worked in partnership with Pennine Stone for many years and look forward to building on this relationship in the future. The business is now over 40 years old and we pride ourselves on maintaining excellent supplier relationships which work for the benefit of all parties.”
Pennine Stone is part of the international Haddonstone group, and was established as a company in its own right in 2002. The company employs around 110 members of staff and produces approximately 2000 stones a day for a variety of clients.
As well as supplying a full range of cast stone products to national housebuilders, Pennine Stone also provides a variety of stonework for bespoke projects across the construction industry.
TecCast is a Semi - Dry product which uses a combination of traditional materials and technologically innovative admixtures to produce stone which is without equal.
TecLite uses a fibre-reinforced mix to produce light weight products which look and behave exactly like traditional cast stone.
WetCast is a traditional wet mix material which is used to produce dense heavy duty, extremely robust products, ranging in size from small decorative items such as cills, heads and copings right up to large cornices, beams, columns and porticos.
